Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Maze Ball app ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the app.
The short version
Maze Ball has no accounts and no sign-in. Your game progress stays on your device. The app shows ads through Google AdMob and uses Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. We do not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, or photos, and we do not sell your personal information.
What we store on your device
The app saves the following locally, in your device's app storage. We do not upload it, and it is removed when you uninstall the app:
- which levels you have completed
- the star rating you earned on each level
- your best completion time for each level
- app settings (such as sound, haptics, and language preferences)
None of this identifies you. There is no name, email, account, or profile associated with it.
What we collect (Firebase)
To keep the app stable and understand how it is used, we use Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. Firebase may collect limited app and device data, such as:
- an app instance identifier (a random ID, not linked to your name or account)
- device and app information (model, OS version, language, time zone, app version)
- gameplay and usage events: which screens you open, when you start, finish, or leave a level, how long a level took, how many times you restarted it, whether you used a hint, and which language you choose
- performance metrics (such as app start-up and network timings)
- crash logs and stack traces
- your approximate region, derived from your IP address
We use this to fix crashes, find levels that are too hard or too easy, and decide what to improve. We do not use it to identify you personally.
Advertising
Maze Ball shows ads served by Google AdMob: interstitial ads and optional rewarded ads, which you can choose to watch to unlock a level hint. Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice.
To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and use information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS, where available)
- your IP address and approximate location
- device information (model, OS version, language) and app identifiers
- information about ads you have seen or interacted with
This information may be used to show relevant ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before personalized advertising or tracking, and you can change that choice in your device settings.
You can limit ad personalization at any time:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can opt out of ads personalization or reset your Advertising ID.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Apple Advertising settings.

App updates
The app checks for updates so you can receive fixes and new levels without waiting for a full store release. On Android, it may also use Google Play's in-app update prompt to tell you a new version is available. These checks are handled by Expo Updates and Google Play.
To serve the correct update, the request includes limited technical information such as:
- your platform (iOS or Android) and OS version
- the app version and update identifier you currently have
- your IP address, which is visible to any server your device connects to
This information is used to decide which update file to return. It is not used to identify you or to build a profile.
Permissions
The app uses vibration for haptic feedback when the ball hits a wall and when you finish a level. You can turn haptics off in your device's system settings.
On Android, the app declares the Advertising ID permission (AD_ID) so AdMob can serve and
measure ads. You can remove or reset your Advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
The app does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location, and does not ask you to sign in.
Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party services, which process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (advertising): Google Privacy Policy
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring): Firebase Privacy & Security
- Expo Application Services (EAS) (app updates): Expo Privacy Policy
These providers may process data on servers outside your country. The app is also distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which collect their own download, crash, and usage statistics under their own policies, which we do not control. See the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above so they can run ads, analytics, crash reporting, and updates on our behalf, or where required by law.
Your choices
Your progress is stored only on your device, so you are in control of it. Uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also clear the app's data from your device settings to reset progress without uninstalling.
You can limit ad personalization and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, as described in the Advertising section. To ask about data associated with Firebase's app instance identifier, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Maze Ball is a casual puzzle game, but it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will work with the relevant service providers to delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a feature that changes how data is handled. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
